In this story
Some places we visit and leave behind. Others we physically leave, yet they remain with us. Cucina Umbra in Colfiorito is one of those places.

Titi and Lila… life on their own terms
Titi and Lila chose to live in their own way—without following a ready-made template, and without trying to make their place resemble anywhere else. They stayed faithful to what they love: a simple, authentic and generous way of life where people come first.

A place that keeps everything
Inside Cucina Umbra, every corner seems to hold a different decade. Old photographs, a radio, mismatched chairs, kitchen tools and small objects remain because they belong to the story. Even images of Titi and Lila when they were young are still part of the room, as though the place has kept every version of them.

The shop sells many things, and somehow you can find almost anything here. But its best offering is not displayed on a shelf or written on a menu.
Here, someone will listen
If you are hungry, there is food. If you need something, chances are you may find it. And if all you want is to sit down and talk, there is a chair—and, more importantly, someone willing to listen.
That may be one of the most beautiful things a place can do: make you feel welcome even when you are not quite sure what you need.

The table where time feels lighter
Around these tables, we lived some of our gentlest and most beautiful moments. Conversations stretch without anyone noticing, subjects change, and time slows down. A stranger enters and, after a while, feels less like a stranger.
At night, under softer light, the place becomes even more intimate. It no longer feels like dinner in a restaurant. It feels like returning somewhere that already knows you.

Life is not perfectly arranged
A childhood bicycle hangs beside kitchen pans. Old photographs remain. Objects collected through decades stay where life placed them. Nothing is trying to make the past look polished or perfect.
And that is exactly what makes it beautiful.
Life here is not decoration. It is layers. People, laughter, ordinary days and objects that slowly became memory.

Tenderness in the shape of a place
Some places stay with us because they are beautiful. Others stay because they make us feel something we had forgotten.
For me, Cucina Umbra is tenderness in the shape of a place.
Titi and Lila are not simply restaurant owners. They remind us that life does not need to be perfect to be beautiful, and it does not need to follow anyone else's rules to be authentic.

I leave Colfiorito each time, but somehow Cucina Umbra never quite leaves me.
